Driven by the goal of leading the fashion world into a more sustainable future, NKWO and Wildling – curated by Beatrace Oola, initiator of Fashion Africa Now – have teamed up and developed the ONU summer shoe, which is limited to 5,000 pairs.

The word "ONU" has its origin in the Nigerian Igbo language and means "together" - because this is the only way to achieve long- term changes in the fashion industry.

From June 14, 2023, ONU will be available in sizes 23 to 48 from Wildling's online shop - www.wildling.shoes.

It is incredible to see our ethical waste fabric - DAKALATM Cloth transformed to print. We are also pleased that our NKWO Transform Project women were a part of the making process as they worked on knotting and stringing the sisal fibers used to create the fringing on the shoes. We love to use sisal as an embellishment, as it is a 100% biodegradable fibre.
